



St Nicholas Priory is a Grade I listed buidling located in central Exeter. Founded by William the Conqueror in 1087 as a priory and later turned into a rich merchant’s town house, the priory has now been made accessible to the public to visit.
Fund raising
Phil helped raised nearly £100k for new heating for St Nicholas Priory for Exeter Historic Buildings Trust from a variety of charitable trusts. He acted as the key point of contact for the funders, providing reports and updates.
He helped write a succesful bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for an ambitions engagement and outreach programme, including a climate change project.
Building Conservation
Phil acted as Client on behalf of the Trust, liasing with the Trust's architects and the project team for the installation of a new air source heat pump sytsem for the Priory and for a project to undertake high-level conservaion works to the building.

Environmental monitoring
Phil undertook the routine environmental monitoring of the Priory and its collections including those of the Devon and Exeter Medical Heritage Trust between 2018 and 2023. He provided reports to the Board of Trustees, specified, and oversaw the procurement of a new digital environmental monitoring system and provided training to staff.
